Accession visit of Consul General Nemanja Sekički to the Mayor of Trieste
The Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Trieste, Nemanja Sekički, met at the city hall with the Mayor of Trieste, Roberto Dipiazza, as part of his introductory visit. Mayor Dipiazza wished the new Consul General a warm welcome to the city of Trieste and much success in his future work, reminding his guest of the history of the city of Trieste, its development and its centuries-old vocation as a multicultural, multiethnic and multiconfessional city.

The meeting was also attended by Giorgio Rossi, advisor for culture and tourism policy, and the interlocutors emphasized the importance of the Serbian community for the city of Trieste, while confirming the mutual respect and friendship between the Serbian and Italian people. The meeting was traditionally held in the ceremonial blue hall and using a model mayor Dipiazza illustrated the economic and demographic development prospects associated with the project for the reconstruction of the vast 65-hectare coastal area of Porto Vecchio, now Porto Vivo, an important and valuable resource for the future of the city of Trieste and the entire region.The Consul General took the opportunity to thank Mayor Dipiazza on behalf of the Serbian community for his cooperation so far and introduced him to the "Paths of the Roman Emperors" project that the Consulate General will implement in cooperation with the city of Trieste in the coming period.
