Ceremonial unveiling of a memorial plaque to Dositej Obradović in Trieste

We are particularly pleased to announce that, in the presence of the wife of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mrs. Tamara Vučić, and the President of the Municipal Council of the City of Trieste, Mr. Francesco Panteca, on December 9, 2025, a memorial plaque to Dositej Obradović was ceremonially unveiled in Trieste.

The ceremony was attended by the President of the Municipal Council of Trieste, Francesco Pantecca, the Secretary General of the Central European Initiative, Franco Dal Mas, the Quaestor of Trieste, Lilia Fredella, the Dean and Secretary General of the Consular Corps of Trieste, Alessio Semerani and Luca Belinelli, as well as other local officials. The event was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Italy Mirjana Jeremić, Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Milan Natasa Savićević, Deputy Secretary General of the Central European Initiative Ivana Pejović, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Trieste Nikola Paunović, Archpriest – stavrophor of the Church of St. Spyridon in Trieste Raško Radović, president of the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality in Trieste Zlatimir Selaković, president of the Union of Serbs in Italy Lidija Radovanović, as well as numerous other representatives of the Serbian diaspora.

The reception at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Trieste, held after the ceremony to unveil the memorial plaque, was also attended by the Mayor of Trieste, Roberto Dipiaca.
